5 ways to share, collaborate and inspire this #GivingTuesday!

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving, a time to give back to our communities after Thanksgiving and the consumerism of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday is also a time to share, collaborate and inspire our employees, friends and co-workers to get involved. With Giving Tuesday less than a month away, here are 5 quick and easy ways to engage and excite!

  1. Save the date with a Giving Tuesday Calendar invite
This is a simply way to remind and invite all your employees to engage in giving Tuesday. Include in the invite any import information pertaining to all your giving Tuesday campaigns and links to where employees should go to make a contribution.
  1. Share your #mygivingstory for a chance to be feature on the givingtuesday.org
Encourage employees to share their own #mygivingstory stories for a chance to be feature on the givingtuesday.org. Read other featured stories to get inspired, spread the spirit of giving and build excitement for the coming giving Tuesday.
  1. Create a Meaningful Hashtag
Using a company specific hashtag can help encourage employees and get them involved! It’s easy to set up a feed and get the participation flowing. Along with your company hashtag, post using the Giving Tuesday #UNselfie template for employees to share how they are giving this year. This is particularly useful if your company has more than one location or you have remote workers.
  1. Make giving fun!
Create a friendly competition for Giving Tuesday through your workplace giving program, with an incentive to earn the title of most generous state, team or department. For example, encouraged employees to donate to nonprofits of their choice by using the firm’s workplace giving program competition with a $2 for $1 matching gift promotion.
  1. Double Down On a Cause That Matters to Your Company
This is probably the most important element of creating an incredible #GivingTuesday - finding a cause that speaks to your employees, your company, and your clients. What do they hold dear? What would your target base be most interested in? That is where you will find something you can really make a difference in. In fact, 90% of global citizens think companies should leverage their unique assets like people, products and knowledge to support community needs. If your company is already committed to a cause, you could increase the company match or launch a dollars for doers campaign on Giving Tuesday.

This is the season of giving, but you don’t have to do it all by yourself. Use your company and brand power to get others involved. Together, we can make incredible happen!
